Having the classic Sierra Nevada Pale Ale tonight, it’s been a while but has always been a go-to when it comes to the American version of the style.
SNPA has a great color that is darker than many pales out there. The aroma was lacking at first, however about halfway through started to pick up. The same goes for the taste which is odd because it was not ice cold when I poured it. I really picked up the grapefruit notes from the Cascade hops as I was drinking it. This isn’t an overly hoppy beer, but I did get some bitterness at the end. There is a good reason Sierra Nevada’s Pale Ale has been around since 1980, it is still a great beer!
On my scale of 1-10, I scored it a 8.06. I use appearance, aroma, taste, mouthfeel, and overall impression with the score weighted more towards taste.
